The Koenigsegg CC850: A 1,385 HP Tribute to the First Production Koenigsegg

The Koenigsegg CC850 is a brand-new hypercar that honors the 20th anniversary of the company's CC8S, its first production model. The 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine generates 1,385 horsepower when running on E85 fuel or 1,185 horsepower when running on ordinary fuel. Moreover, it has a special transmission dubbed the Engage Shift System (ESS) that enables manual or automatic gearshifting. The CC850's design, which has triple taillight clusters, telephone-dial-style wheels, and a wraparound windshield, is based on the CC8S.

The Koenigsegg CC850 has impressive performance numbers. It can rev up to 8,500 rpm and produce 1,385 horsepower on E85 fuel or 1,185 horsepower on regular fuel.  It also boasts a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio, which means that its weight is equal to the amount of horsepower it produces (1,385 kg). It has a special transmission that can function as a gated six-speed manual with a clutch pedal as well as a nine-speed automatic. Depending on your preference, the transmission lets you change gears manually or automatically.

Although the Koenigsegg CC850's official acceleration and top speed numbers have not yet been disclosed, based on its power-to-weight ratio and engine specifications, it is anticipated to be quite quick. It might approach 300 mph and accelerate to 60 mph in a matter of seconds. The CC850 has a light-speed gearbox that facilitates quick and smooth gear changes, and because of its low weight of 1,385 kg, it should handle well.

The Koenigsegg CC850 pays homage to the CC8S, the company's original production model 20 years ago. On August 19, 2022, the CC850 was introduced at Pebble Beach, California. The wheels, windscreen, and taillights are some of the design cues shared with the CC8S. Yet it also boasts a ton of contemporary features and technologies, which turn it into a cutting-edge hypercar. There will only be 70 pieces made in total.
