In the 1970s, South African builders created the iconic and rare BMW 530 MLE as a factory-prepared race car for the Modified Production Series. Although not being an official M vehicle, it was also referred to as the BMW M5’s predecessor.
The inline six 3.0 liter engine produced 200 horsepower and had a top speed of 208 km/h. The BMW 530 MLE is one of the most sought-after classics among BMW enthusiasts as just 100 to 110 units were developed.
