The Mercedes 300SL Roadster: A Timeless Beauty for Classic Car Enthusiasts

The Mercedes 300SL Roadster is a classic car that was produced from 1957 to 1963. It was based on the famous 300SL Gullwing coupe, but the Roadster added a convertible top and regular doors in place of the Gullwing’s unusual ones. A 3.0-liter inline-six engine with direct fuel injection and 215 horsepower was installed in this vehicle.

Just around 1858 of these extremely expensive and unusual cars were produced. In the United States, the initial cost was $10,950 in 1957, which is equivalent to $90,870 today. In 2022, a 300SL Roadster sold at auction for an average price of $1.3M.
